MARCH 16, 2020

Dear East Memorial Family,

We trust God with our salvation, our health, and our future. In practicing Biblical wisdom, we desire to take prudent, responsible action in the case of any abnormal circumstance, such as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Of course, we believe this is a temporary circumstance, and we are confidently hopeful that it will pass in due time. So, we do not fear. In fact, as Christians we have confident hope and faith in God and His Word. In 2 Timothy 1:7 we read about the Christian spirit: “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” We pray for each of our members that this would be their spirit as well. At the same time, we also want to take the necessary precautions to avoid unnecessary health issues to our church family.

So, after prayer and consideration, we decided not to hold our worship services on Wednesday, March 18th or Sunday, March 22nd at 10:30am as advised by the CDC. Our 10:30am Sunday morning service as well as our 6:30pm Wednesday evening service will be streamed live on our church Facebook and Youtube pages for you to watch from the comfort of your own home. While we know the fellowship with fellow believers is not the same from your home, we believe those days to come again soon! The links can be found on Facebook and Youtube here:

General instruction regarding our worship service and schedule:

  • We will not have regularly scheduled nursery or childcare this Wednesday or Sunday.
  • Our Fellowship Groups, Wednesday groups, Awana, Sunday School Classes will not meet at all.
  • The church will remain open 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday.
  • You may drop off your giving at the church or give online here: www.eastmemorial.org/online-giving/

Our pastors will continue to meet, pray, and determine the schedule of future worship services. We would ask that you pray for our nation, our leaders, the world, those affected by the virus, and most of all for this to bring opportunities for the Gospel to be spread and take root in souls that would otherwise be unresponsive. In the midst of this, pray that a spiritual awakening would begin in our nation and across the globe.

God Be Glorified Always,

East Memorial Pastors
