Children's Ministry
AWANAThe AWANA Club is a ministry that leads kids worldwide to know, love and serve Christ.
Awana helps EMBC and parents work together to develop spiritually strong children and youth who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. The Awana Club Ministry offers a proven approach for evangelizing and discipling kids EMBC and the Prattville/Millbrook community.
An Awana Alumni Study Report recently said, “The trends of church-going teens is troubling.”
- Over half of all church-going teens abandon their faith after high school.
- As few as one in 10 possesses a biblical view of God and the world.
- Bible knowledge among college students has plummeted to all-time lows.
- The majority of children from Christian homes leave the church by age 19.
But the good news is that the Awana ministry is making an impact. A recent national survey found Awana to be as important to our alumni's spiritual foundation as all other church activities combined.
Among alumni who participated in Awana program for at least six years, 92.7 percent still attend church at least weekly as adults!
Unfortunately, these are more than mere statistics. They represent millions of young people around the country. You might personally know young adults who have fallen away from God. Perhaps they attended your church, hail from your community, are friends of your children or even are part of your family. The crisis they face – and that churches and parents must confront – is all too real.
By contrast, most kids trained in Awana continue to faithfully follow Jesus as adults.
Awana alumni enter adulthood prepared to walk with Christ for life.
Come join us at our Awana Club ministry here at EMBC. We meet Wednesday nights at 6:15 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

AWANA collection night for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes is Wednesday, November 14.
We are so excited about the opportunity your children have to send a gift-filled box to a needy child in some part of the world this Christmas. We encourage each clubber to include a handwritten note and/or picture inside the box. This makes the gift more special! You will also enable this ministry to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to recipient of the shoebox. If you have any questions about this ministry or which shoebox items you can or cannot include, visit the website at http://www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/OCC/. Your time and gift will have an impact in the life of a child. NOTE: Please include $7 to cover shipping.
Our Curricula:
Our EMBC Children’s Ministry use Sunday School material that is biblically based. This is a God-centered curriculum that covers the Old Testament historical books, the life of Christ, and lessons from Acts and Revelation for ages 1-5 and grades 1st - 6th grade. These lessons are used by our teachers to teach the whole counsel of God to your children. It is designed to encourage a high degree of interaction between student and teacher.
For students in the elementary grades, the Bible lessons are written in a question-and-answer format. This ensures that students participate in and understand each lesson. We have also included key truths, objectives, and application points to the beginning of each lesson to help teachers clearly understand what they want their students to learn. We also use ideas and activities that helps increase your child’s understanding and recall of the lesson and includes material you the parent can discuss with your child each week at home.
Download the Sunday School material for your class below. If your material is not located below, please check our downloads page to download the correct material.
